Engagements

Three engagements. One purpose.

Each engagement addresses a specific situation that comes up in operational and strategic work. They are not tiers — choose the one that fits the question you are carrying.

Our Approach

How Saro Bay structures its engagements

1. Brief exchange

A short email or call to confirm the situation fits one of the three engagements and to agree on the written scope brief.

2. Engagement runs

The advisor works through the engagement — gathering inputs, running any structured processes, and drafting the output document with a second-advisor review.

3. Document delivered

You receive the written output. The engagement ends there. One round of clarification is included if needed.

Strategic Note Series

Engagement 01

Strategic Note Series

RM 2,400 / month

A standing monthly engagement that produces a three-to-five page written note on a topic chosen with the executive sponsor. Topics vary by what is pressing that month — a competitor's reported move, a shift in the regulatory environment, a question raised at the last board meeting. The format is designed for internal circulation: clear, non-jargon, and written for a senior reader who has limited time.

  • Topic set monthly by executive sponsor
  • Three to five pages, written for internal circulation
  • Favors clarity over comprehensiveness
  • Delivered within ten business days of topic confirmation
  • Cancel any month with two weeks' notice

How it runs each month

1Sponsor confirms the topic by the 1st of each month
2Advisor researches and drafts the note
3Second-advisor review for accuracy and clarity
4Delivered as a PDF document by the agreed date

Engagement 02

Tools Selection Advisory

RM 1,300 / engagement

An advisory engagement for a team weighing the choice between several operational software platforms — a project management tool, a CRM, an analytics platform. The consultant gathers requirements through structured sessions with the relevant team members, runs trials against those requirements, and produces a written recommendation with stated reservations. The output is designed to support a decision, not replace it.

  • Structured requirements gathering with your team
  • Vendor-neutral trial process
  • Written recommendation with reservations stated plainly
  • Covers project management, CRM, analytics, and similar platforms
  • Completed in two to three weeks from first session

Engagement steps

1Requirements session with team members who will use the tool
2Structured trials run against those requirements
3Written recommendation drafted and internally reviewed
4Document delivered; one round of clarification included

Stakeholder Alignment Memo

Engagement 03

Stakeholder Alignment Memo

RM 580 / engagement

A short engagement in which the consultant interviews a defined set of stakeholders around a question the company is preparing to decide, and returns an anonymized memo summarizing where positions converge and where they differ. The memo is input to a meeting, not a verdict — it gives the sponsor a clear picture of the room before walking into it.

  • Confidential interviews with defined stakeholder group
  • Anonymized output — positions mapped, not attributed
  • Neutral, descriptive framing — no recommendation
  • Suitable for up to eight stakeholders
  • Delivered within five to seven working days

Engagement steps

1Sponsor defines the stakeholder list and the central question
2Advisor conducts confidential interviews (in person or remote)
3Anonymized memo drafted — convergences and divergences mapped
4Memo delivered to sponsor before the relevant meeting

Standards

Shared across all three engagements

Written scope before start

A one-page brief confirms what is being delivered and at what price before any work begins.

Confidentiality agreement

Standard confidentiality agreement signed at the start. Client information stays within the engagement.

Second-advisor review

Every document is reviewed by a second advisor before delivery. The review checks accuracy and clarity.

Agreed delivery timeline

The delivery date is part of the scope brief. Any change is communicated before the original date, not after.

One clarification round

One round of clarification questions on the delivered document is included in the fee for all engagements.

No follow-on pressure

The engagement ends at delivery. There is no sales process attached to the completion of any piece of work.
